T-Jam '99  was the first major international balloon jam held in the United States.  Most balloon jams are small local or regional events, but with Tom Myers reputation (and international mailing list), his first T-jam brought the "jam" to a whole new level.  The few other multi-day jams were held in conjunction with other activities, usually clown conventions.  The T-jam was the first major U.S. event strictly for "Twisters".
